High Performance Digital Mode Interfaces for Ham Radio
About Us.
Since you have happened across our site, who are we?
My name is Steve Gwilliam (G8XGG) and I gained my Ham Radio Licence in 1980 at the age of 16 whilst still at school.
I joined The BBC in 1983 in their Transmitter Department. Over the next 38 years, I worked my way through engineering and management grades within The BBC, National Grid Wireless and eventually Arqiva where where I became a Principal Engineer (Radio) for the final 10 years before I retired.
My specialisms were in high power Long Wave, Medium Wave, VHF FM and DAB transmission including the programme distribution infrastructure.
In 2006 together with my wife Linda, we started our www.xggcomms.com ham radio business supplying after-market products to the Ham Radio marketplace and later set up our ham-interfaces.com site to run in parallel.
If we are not in the office making and selling our interfaces, we will be our on our road bikes (usually via a cafe stop) in the summer and skiing as much as possible in the winter.
I am also a keen runner having completed 8 Marathons and over 250 Half Marathons.
